WV Airport Operator Crashes And Burns Trying To Steal FlyCRW.com

Case Number: NAF 2082771

Complainant: Central West Virginia Regional Airport Authority

Represented by: Babst Calland Clements & Zomnir, PC

The Central West Virginia Regional Airport Authority, which operates Yeager Airport in Charleston, has been found guilty of Reverse Domain Name Hijacking in their effort to steal the domain FlyCRW.com from its current registrant. In this case, the registrant did not file a response to the UDRP complaint.

The domain, itself, was registered in 2019, while the airport authority’s trademark for the FlyCRW mark, which represents the word ‘fly’ combined with the three-letter location identifier issued by the Federal Aviation Administration, was not issued by the the U.S. Patent and Trademark Office until 2022.

A sole panelist of the National Arbitration Forum, Alan L. Limbury, handed up the RDNH ruling on April 21, 2024.
