Swiss Company Clocked By RDNH Trying To Swipe SkyCell.com

Case Number: D2021-2472

Complainant: SkyCell AG

Represented by: Internally represented

A Swiss company that manufactures pharmaceutical containers has been found guilty of Reverse Domain Name Hijacking by the World Intellectual Property Organization. A single-member panel of WIPO handed up the ruling against SkyCell AG, which has a trademark in Switzerland dating to 2013, after it used the UDRP process to try to grab the domain skycell.com.

While SkyCell AG also has international trademarks, none predates the registration of the domain skycell.com, which was first registered in 1995. It was acquired by its current owner in 2008.

The sole panelist, Steven A. Maier, handed up his RDNH ruling against SkyCell AG on September 27, 2021.
