Case Number: D2022-2162
Complainant: Fly Go Voyager SRL
Represented by: Suciu & Asociații
Fly Go Voyager SRL, a Romanian company provides travel services, including flights, has been found guilty of Reverse Domain Name Hijacking for attempting to grab the domain flygo.com, which is owned by a resident of the United Kingdom. The domain was registered in 1999, and is still held by its original registrant. Fly Go Voyager was not founded until 2005, which automatically earned the company the RDNH ruling from the single-member panel at the World Intellectual Property Organization. The ruling was handed up July 27, 2022.
In issuing the ruling, panelist Luca Barbero made the reasoning pointed and obvious. “As the Complainant is represented by counsel and knew the registration date when filing the Complainant and did not allege a later acquisition by the Respondent, the Panel considers that a finding of RDNH is appropriate,” the panel wrote.
