Case Number: NAF 2065667
Complainant: Micro Knives, Inc.
Represented by: Parker Poe Adams & Bernstein LLP
A North Carolina cutlery firm has been found to have abused the UDRP process in an effort to force the transfer of the domain NattyOutdoorStore.com from its registrant, a Thailand-based company, which also sells cutlery, alleging the Thai company was selling counterfeit products using the complainant’s brand. For its part, the complainant, Micro Knives, Inc., does not have any trademarks or brands related to the domain name.
Although the respondent never filed a brief, David E. Sorkin, the sole panelist reviewing the case at the National Arbitration Forum, handed up a ruling of Reverse Domain Name Hijacking against Micro Knives on November 1, 2023.
