French Company Slapped With RDNH Trying To Snatch VeriPro.com

Case Number: D2022-2196

Complainant: ITF France

Represented by: Cabinet Bouchara

A French company that matches workers with home and office renovation jobs has been found guilty of using the UDRP process to try to hijack the domain veripro.com. ITF of France was found guilty of RDNH by a three-member panel of the World Intellectual Property Organization on September 2, 2022. The firm was represented by the firm of Cabinet Bouchara, which has offices in Paris, Lyon and Strasbourg.

The panel found the complainant did a poor job of due diligence prior to bringing its complaint, a deficiency it stated as glaring. “The Complainant in this case predicated its case upon a change in the website content associated with the disputed domain name in 2013,” the panel wrote. “[T]he truth would have been readily apparent upon proper investigation of relevant public resources.”
