Case Number: D2024-4344
Complainant: Michelios 3 and AmeXio
Represented by: Legal In Motion
A French holdings company and its subsidiary have been found guilty of Reverse Domain Name Hijacking in connection with their effort to use the UDRP process to force the transfer of the domain amexio.com, initially registered in 2011. In the complaint, Michelios 3 and its subsidiary, AmeXio, tried to claim the domain was registered in advance of the company’s acquiring a trademark, in an effort to then sell the domain and capitalize on the pending trademark.
A three-member panel of the World Intellectual Property Organization, comprised of members Matthew Kennedy, Jérôme Huet and Jeffrey Neuman, rejected the arguments made in the UDRP filing, handing up an RDNH ruling on December 23, 2024.
