European Electrical Company Zapped With RDNH Trying To Grab Obo.com

OBO Bettermann Holding GmbH & Co. KG, a German company that sells and installs what it calls electrotechnical equipment for commercial buildings and factories, has been found guilty of Reverse Domain Name Hijacking for their use of the UDRP process to force a transfer of the domain obo.com. Obo.com has been owned by its current registrant, Darren Dittrich, from the United States, since 2000.

A three-member panel of the World Intellectual Property Organization handed up its ruling against OBO Bettermann Holding on December 7, 2023. The three panelists included Edoardo Fano, Thomas Hoeren and Nick J. Gardner.
