Case Number: 17918-UDRP
Complainant: Boost Collective Inc.
Represented by:
A newly-incorporated Canadian company has been found guilty of Reverse Domain Name Hijacking for trying to use the UDRP process to steal the domain boostcollective.com from a small business owner in Washington state. Boost Collective Inc., from Ontario, Canada, was found guilty of using the UDRP process to hijack the domain, as a fall-back position for a failed acquisition attempt. The complaint was filed by one of the artists on the Boost Collective website: Damian Barbu. A sole panelist from the Canadian International Internet Dispute Resolution Centre (CIIDRC) handed up the RDNH ruling on September 11, 2022.
In issuing his decision, panelist Alan L. Limbury wrote that the complainant’s hijack attempt was obvious. “The Panel finds this to be a classic example of a “Plan B” case of RDNH,” Limbury wrote.
