Domain Name’s Former Owner Found Guilty Of RDNH Trying To Reclaim

A law firm based in France has been found guilty of Reverse Domain Name Hijacking for attempting to use the UDRP arbitration process to force the transfer of a domain name it had once owned but let drop. The firm of Arthus Bertrand, which has a subsidiary by the name of A. Augis, had attempted for impel the transfer of augis.com from Mira Holdings, which recently bought the domain at auction. The complainant had apparently owned the domain, but it had dropped in 2013, according to the ruling from the World Intellectual Property Organization.

A single-member panel of WIPO, Nick J. Gardner, handed up his ruling of RDNH against Arthus Bertrand on November 7, 2024.
