California Coffee Company Burned By RDNH Trying To Steal Cappuccine.com

A California-based beverage company, operating under a name that is a variance of cappuccino, has been found guilty of Reverse Domain Name Hijacking by an arbitration panel at the World Intellectual Property Organization. Cappuccine Specialties, Inc., based in Corona, California, had attempted to use the UDRP process to steal the domain cappuccine.com, which predates the company’s trademarks by several years.

The three-member panel at WIPO, composed of members Flip Jan Claude Petillion, Alexandre Nappey and The Honorable Neil Brown, handed up their RDNH ruling against Cappuccine Specialties on October 17,  2023.
