The Vanel Law Firm, P.C. represented social media entrepreneur and influencer Cathleen Trigg-Jones in her effort to steal the domain iwoman.com, to complement Trigg-Jones’ iWomanTV. However, Trigg-Jones’ trademark for the term was issued more than 22 years after the domain, itself, was initially registered, and a decade prior to the domain’s acquisition by its current registrant.
Assen Alexiev, the single panelist ruling on the case at the World Intellectual Property Organization, handed up a ruling of RDNH against Trigg-Jones on October 3, 2023.
The Vanel Law Firm also represented the Florida-based scent company, Scentsational Shoppe, Inc., in its effort to use the UDRP process to force the transfer of the domain name perfume-oils.com.
A single-member panel of the World Intellectual Property Organization handed up a ruling of Reverse Domain Name Hijacking against Scentsational Shoppe on October 12, 2023.
